especially the cultivated A. majus, whose showy flowers are fancifully

Paeonia. Of the four or five species, one is a shrub; the rest are
perennial herbs with showy flowers, often double in cultivation.

polypetalous flowers and a milky juice. From one species (Papaver

- An evergreen flowering shrub - Flowering shrub - Japonica or sasanqua - Rose-like flower - showy flowering shrub - An Asiatic genus of small shrubs, often with shining
leaves and showy flowers. Camellia Japonica is much cultivated for
ornament, and C. Sassanqua and C. oleifera are grown in China for the
oil which is pressed from their seeds. The tea plant is now referred to
this genus under the name of Camellia Thea.
