- A rare metallic element, found in certain zinc ores. It is
white, hard, and malleable, resembling aluminium, and remarcable for
its low melting point (86/ F., 30/C). Symbol Ga. Atomic weight 69.9.
- A rare element of the chromium group, occurring in
nature in the minerals molybdenite and wulfenite, and when reduced
obtained as a hard, silver-white, difficulty fusible metal. Symbol Mo.
Atomic weight 95.9.
- Irrational quantity - Net having the sense of hearing; deaf. - Unheard. - Involving surds; not capable of being expressed in rational
numbers; radical; irrational; as, a surd expression or quantity; a surd
number. - Uttered, as an element of speech, without tone, or proper
vocal sound; voiceless; unintonated; nonvocal; atonic; whispered;
aspirated; sharp; hard, as f, p, s, etc.; -- opposed to sonant. See

- Element, Mn - Metallic element - An element obtained by reduction of its oxide, as a
hard, grayish white metal, fusible with difficulty, but easily
oxidized. Its ores occur abundantly in nature as the minerals
pyrolusite, manganite, etc. Symbol Mn. Atomic weight 54.8.
- A rare element of the light platinum group, found
associated with platinum ores, and isolated as a hard, brittle
steel-gray metal which is very infusible. Symbol Ru. Atomic weight
