Example of crossed strips structure

After initial experiments in Switzerland the product is widely used in Europe and mainly produced in Austria. In North America CLT is relatively new but is rapidly taking on, especially in Canada. It is designed to increase structural characteristics also by coupling different types of wood, creating a compound “alloy” with fantastic performance.

The crossed strips structure provides dimensional stability, strength and firmness and this makes CLT a true alternative to concrete, bricks and steel. It can be used for an entire building as a system of both lateral and vertical load resistance, or for special elements such as roofs, floors or walls.
