- The little wheel of a spur, with sharp points.
- A little flat ring or wheel on horses' bits.
- A roll of hair, silk, etc., passed through the flesh of
horses, answering to a seton in human surgery.
- To insert a rowel, or roll of hair or silk, into (as the
flesh of a horse).
- That part of a blossom which secretes nectar, usually the
base of the corolla or petals; also, the spur of such flowers as the
larkspur and columbine, whether nectariferous or not. See the
