- Livid and painful swellings formed by the dilation
of the blood vessels around the margin of, or within, the anus, from
which blood or mucus is occasionally discharged; piles; emerods.
- A contagious disease of horses, associated with painful
ulcerating enlargements, esp. upon the head and limbs. It is of the
same nature as glanders, and is often fatal. Called also farcin, and
farcimen.
