However, the phrase “ill-assorted” sounds strange to me — I would say “ill-suited to
Forgive me for not choosing any preposition for the simple reason that we wouldn’t say “ill-assorted” here. Perhaps you’re thinking of “ill-suited”; but I don’t think I would use that here, either.
